Vehicle Overview

2025 BMW X3 40d xDrive G45 Auto AWD.

This 2025 BMW X3 40d presents the latest-generation X3 as a substantial, technically sophisticated SUV with the pace and long-distance composure expected of BMW's six-cylinder diesel models. Its Black Sapphire exterior gives the vehicle a restrained, purposeful appearance, while the 40d xDrive specification combines a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a 13.0 kW electric motor and permanent all-wheel drive.

The powertrain produces 210.0 kW from the diesel engine and 650 Nm of torque, with a combined system output listed at 223.0 kW. That generous torque reserve is well suited to relaxed highway progress and confident overtaking, while the eight-speed Steptronic sports automatic transmission is designed to keep the engine in its useful operating range. The constant xDrive system provides traction through all four wheels, adding reassurance on changing road surfaces and when towing.

Despite its performance focus, the X3 remains an inherently practical family-sized SUV. It has five doors and five seats, with a published luggage capacity of 570 litres that expands to 1,700 litres when the rear seating area is configured for maximum load space. A braked towing capacity of 2,200 kg further broadens its usefulness for owners who need to carry larger recreational or work-related equipment.

The cabin is finished in black and is equipped with a selection of convenience and technology features intended to make everyday driving easier. A power-blind sunroof adds light and openness to the passenger compartment, while electric memory seating, a heated multifunction steering wheel and hands-free boot access support comfort on longer journeys and convenience in busy car parks. Auto-dimming mirrors, LED headlights and remote keyless entry add further polish to routine use.

Connectivity is addressed through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless device charging, while the head-up display helps place key driving information within the driver's field of view. Automatic parking assistance and road-sign recognition complement the vehicle's technology package. Safety equipment includes lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, brake assist and an integrated dash camera.

With its 60-litre fuel tank and claimed combined consumption of 6.6L/100km, the X3 40d is configured for substantial touring range without abandoning the flexibility expected of a modern SUV. The combination of diesel efficiency, mild-hybrid assistance, all-wheel drive and a spacious load area gives this example a broad operating envelope, while the low 1,535 km odometer reading reflects its demonstrator status.
